UBC Bookstore implemented a "No Sweat" policy to ensure the clothing sold was created ethically.

The UBC Bookstore’s No Sweat Policy ensures clothing is from vendors who employ fair labour practices and are environmentally responsible.

Each year, UBC purchases over $300 million worth of equipment, supplies and goods.  In 2006, flights purchased by staff and faculty generated approximately 13,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The Procurement and Business Travel Climate Action Working Group members are collaborating to reduce GHG emissions, and make UBC more sustainable. The working group includes representatives from UBC Supply Management, the Sauder School of Business, Land and Building Services, the UBC Bookstore, and UBC Travel.
